Moving Day Tampa Bay

This year, in observance of a Day of Giving, Shawn Dunahue and his company, Tidewater Solutions Group, are joining hands with the Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day event in Tampa. Their participation is driven by a profound commitment to support those affected by Parkinson's disease—a condition known for its relentless impact not only on individuals but also on their caregivers and families who stand by them tirelessly.

For Shawn, this cause hits close to home. His brother was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2023 at the relatively young age of 46, following almost a decade of seeking answers. In a landscape where Parkinson's patients under the age of 65 are a minority, the focus of support groups and organizations tends to lean towards seniors, leaving younger individuals like Shawn's brother in need of tailored assistance.

The primary objective of their involvement in the Moving Day event is twofold: to raise awareness for Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD) and to establish local support networks for the increasing number of younger individuals grappling with this condition. By participating in the event and fundraising efforts, Shawn and his team aim to shed light on the unique challenges faced by those with YOPD and to rally support for initiatives aimed at addressing their specific needs.

In essence, their participation transcends mere involvement in a charitable event—it's a heartfelt endeavor to advocate for a cause that touches their lives intimately. Through their actions, they hope to foster understanding, compassion, and tangible support for individuals and families navigating the complexities of Parkinson's disease at a young age.

As they walk alongside others at the Moving Day event, Shawn and his team are not just raising funds; they're amplifying the voices of those often overlooked in the Parkinson's community. Their dedication serves as a beacon of hope, signaling to others affected by YOPD that they are not alone—that there is a community standing in solidarity with them, ready to offer empathy, resources, and unwavering support.

In essence, their participation in the Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day event is a testament to the power of collective action and the profound impact that individuals and businesses can have when they unite behind a common cause. By championing awareness and support for Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease, Shawn Dunahue and Tidewater Solutions Group are exemplifying the true spirit of giving—and making a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals and families affected by this challenging condition.
